How we work

Where does the data come from?

Every specification — motor, torque, battery size, dimensions, load capacity and child seats — is collected from the manufacturers' official figures and structured in our database so models can be compared on equal terms. When we can't verify a figure, we show a "–" instead of guessing.

How do we rank?

The default "Recommended" sort is an open formula built purely on data signals: (1) can the bike be bought right now from a retailer with a verified current price, (2) how widely the bike and its brand are stocked by retailers (availability), (3) how complete our data is (photo, motor, battery, weight etc.), and (4) how recently the price was checked. Commission is not part of the formula — the code never looks at whether a link earns us money. Every other sort (price, Nm, Wh, weight…) is a plain data query. No retailer or manufacturer can pay for a better position. If we ever introduce featured placements, they will be clearly marked "Ad".

How do we make money?

elbike.dk may receive a commission when you click a link marked "Ad link" and then buy from the retailer. The price is the same for you. Commission affects neither our data, our ranking, nor which models we show — the database also includes models and retailers we have no agreement with.

Test results

We don't claim to have tested bikes we haven't handled. Where we reference external tests, we always name the source and link to it. Any measurements or assessments of our own will always be clearly described with their method.
